Note: We will not know until after the final games are played on Saturday if the winners of the semifinal games will play each other for a Section Championship the following weekend or if a team will be selected via previous head to head or coin flip to move on to NorCals. There is a small possibility that if Divisions decide their champions on the field next week, there may be one additional NorCal bowl game. As soon as I know more, I will post it here.*

*Update: There will be no additional bowl game. Those teams that wish to play for a section title will end their season after that game.

Latest Information

All NCS Divisions II - V playoff games have been postponed until November 24th.  This means that many Divisions will not complete their brackets by December 2nd in time to select a representative to the Regional Championships on the field.

If quarterfinals are completed next Saturday, the following weekend (Nov. 30th and Dec. 1st) will be the semifinal games.  


The NCS will then use the following to determine the champion of each Division:

1. Head to Head -- if the two teams in the championship game played earlier in the season, the team that won will be awarded the championship and eligible for regional play.

2. Coin Flip -- If the two teams had not played during the regular season, a coin flip will determine which team is awarded the championship and eligible for regional play.



It should be noted that earlier in the day, NCS officials explored the possibility of moving all playoff games to the Eureka area for a series of Monday afternoon and Monday night games at several different fields, but not all school officials agreed to this. Plus, the logistics involved would have been enormous.

Rescheduled Games

The NCS has rescheduled most games to next Saturday, November 17th. However, two games scheduled for tonight, Cloverdale vs. Kelseyville and Middletown vs. Fort Bragg, are still due to kickoff at 7:00 pm tonight.

If that changes, I'll post an update here.


*UPDATE*

The Cloverdale - Kelseyville game has now been moved to next Saturday. As of right now, only the Middletown - Fort Bragg game is scheduled for tonight.

Playoff Games Monday

All the remaining NCS Divisions IV & V playoff games are now scheduled for Monday, including the Middletown-Fort Bragg game that was to kickoff tonight.

*UPDATE*

The NCS has postponed the NCS playoff games that were due to kickoff at 1:00 pm on Monday. The date, time and locations of those games TBD. The 7:00 pm kickoff games are still scheduled for Monday night. 



*UPDATE 2*

NCS will evaluate Monday night games and make a decision early Monday morning. Real possibility quarterfinal games may be moved to next weekend. Discussions with CIF underway about moving Regional and State Championship games back one week.  As soon as I get information about when and where the games will be played, I will post it here.
