All NCS Divisions II - V playoff games have been postponed until November 24th. This means that many Divisions will not complete their brackets by December 2nd in time to select a representative to the Regional Championships on the field.
If quarterfinals are completed next Saturday, the following weekend (Nov. 30th and Dec. 1st) will be the semifinal games.
The NCS will then use the following to determine the champion of each Division:
1. Head to Head -- if the two teams in the championship game played earlier in the season, the team that won will be awarded the championship and eligible for regional play.
2. Coin Flip -- If the two teams had not played during the regular season, a coin flip will determine which team is awarded the championship and eligible for regional play.
It should be noted that earlier in the day, NCS officials explored the possibility of moving all playoff games to the Eureka area for a series of Monday afternoon and Monday night games at several different fields, but not all school officials agreed to this. Plus, the logistics involved would have been enormous.
