Top Teams

Although Salesian topped St. Patrick-St. Vincent earlier in the year, I think things have come full circle. I believe that the top five ranked teams are actually pretty equal. It looks like it will be a great season and a very competitive post season.

If Fort Bragg beats Middletown then they should be the number one seed, if not then it should be Ferndale. Assuming a no loss season. Assume is spelled ASS (of) U (and) ME. speculation is fun but, gotta play the games!!!!

I was looking forward to the Middletown-Fort Bragg game. I don't think it will be as close as I thought.

Middletown has dominated Fort Bragg the past 4 years. It should be a good game unless Middletown blows them out yet again.

The Fort Bragg-Middletown game will not be the make or break of either teams season. Both will be selected to the playoffs and the team who goes into the playoffs the most healthy, and in the right mindset, will prevail. I think any of the top 8 could steal the Championship.

I agree with #2--it will not be as close I as thought at the beginning of the season. Ft. Bragg should take it. But I'm going to the game anyway. As for Ferndale, I thought I heard the radio announcer say that Ferndale brought up 4 JV players for the South Fork game, and that Ferndale had 12 players suited up for the game. Could a Ferndale fan please give some input on what I thought I heard. Thank you.

Ferndale did bring up 4 JV players. Actually 5 because my son was also asked to play but had a prior commitment. They only did so because the JVs had a BYE and South Fork is not a strong team. They still had their regular 17 players, so 21 total with the JVs. Although RB Wilkinson did not suit up because of an injury. South Fork was the team that had only 12 players total.

It all makes sense now. Thank you, Ferndale Football.

The Middletown-Fort Bragg game is for the NCL I North title. I agree that both teams will likely make the playoffs. I'm thinking that Fort Bragg is the better team, but you never know with High School football.

Ferndale has a couple of tests left with undefeated Hoopa and McKinleyville is better than their 2-3 record indicates -- especially when playing in league. I can't wait to see how it all plays out.

I had my numbers skewed on the amount of players on Ferndale's varsity squad. There are currently 21 players and they played with 25 (counting the JVs) against South Fork. I could be wrong again, but I believe it is the JV team that has 17 players.

It appears that most of the comments are about the Middletown-Ft. Bragg game. Middletown will win as they are also going for Coach Bill Foltmers 200th win. Great coach and leader!
