How did the Lake County scrimmage go? Middletown's Jake Davis should be unstoppable this season!

Curiously enough, Jake Davis wasn't at the scrimmage. I don't know what happened, but when I find out, I'll post it. Of all the teams, Middletown seemed to be the best, but Kelseyville was much improved from last year. Clearlake looked pretty good on offense and Lower Lake has flashes of brilliance -- both passing and rushing -- but was very inconsistent. Their defense was roughed up. I'll post pics later this week.

For the record, it is Clear Lake, not Clearlake. Clearlake is the city, Clear Lake is the high school. Fans from outside of the county are confused enough with the fact that Clear Lake High School is in Lakeport...if we refer to Clear Lake as Clearlake, the confused fans will really think that Clear Lake is in Clearlake.

Yes, sorry about that. I had a feeling the moment I posted it...

I heard Jake Davis is out for at least 8 weeks. A practice squad hero popped him in the chin with his helmet when they were in walk-through the day before the scrimmage. He has a broken jaw and its wired shut. So Sad. I feel bad for the kid. It seems like every year Foltmer looses his best athlete (still somehow manages to win.) Brad Finley in 2004, dirt bike accident summer before season. 2005 - Jakes older brother Zach goes down during pictures when the bleachers tipped over and is hurt his senior year, and some of his Junior year. 2006 - Jeff Marks tranfers to Montgomery (One of the best tailbacks to play JV in Middletown acording to JV coach Heart) and gets all Empire first team and all NBL there as a Junior. Of coarse he missed Marks for 2007 as well. This year its Jake. This is just crazy!

I heard Cardinal Newman is moving down into div 4. Has anybody heard of this

No decisions are going to made about Cardinal Newman until after week 3, same for Marin Catholic. But I know there is a posibilty that they may be in d4.

Injuries happen to every team. Ferndale lost their best all-around player for the year and 2 other starters during their scrimmages. They are hurting right now.

What player did Ferndale lose for the year?

Humboldt County said...

Their RB Wilkinson tore up his knee

Just answering the question someone posed about Jake Davis. No Doubt injuries happen to every team, but my point is: to loose your top athlete that many times over the past 6 years is ridiculous.
