It looks like KWPT is having problems. If any of you are able to hear the broadcast, let me know.

They got it fixed. It's live on kwpt.com.

anyone know how to tune in to the d5 game between Tomales and Hoopa?

I'm not sure if it will be on the radio anywhere. The game may be covered on the live blog at Contra Costa Times. I know they will have a live blog up at 7:00 pm.

My final prediction is Salesian 35 Ferndale 17. I just think Salesian is that much better than everyone this year.

My pick a well although I would be generous allowing Ferndale that many points as the Pride doesn't allow a lot of points either. But when it boils down to it I will root for Ferndale to win for the same reason I rooted for M-town last year. Lets go to the bowl game in Carson and represent the 707!! GO CATS!!

Another neutral field just 8 miles from salesian..hey just like last year. why not ukiah?

"Neutral Field" is obviously a relative term as the private school only has a hop, skip, and a jump while the public school gets to travel 4+ hours. Ukiah or Santa Rosa would make perfect sense but since when has the NCS ever made sense? It makes a person wonder if someone at Alhambra High has a little something going with the NCS??

its was meant to be a neutral field closer to the higher seed. Teams such as ferndale and others have won section championships on neutral fields including the one they are playing on this coming weekend.

I have no problem with a field closer to the higher see. Santa Rosa or Healdsburg or even St. Helena fits that description. Why at the same field yet again?? Someone at Alhambra High has their hand in the NCS coin purse. Likely one of the "fat cats" on their behind-the-closed-doors secret seeding committee that they don't want anyone to know the identidty of. Absolutely no transparency there.

It doesn't really matter where the game is played. It's the 1 seed against the 2; Prediction:
Salesian 27 Ferndale 12

If Healdsburg would have beat Salesian the championship game would have been played at either Humboldt state or College of the Redwoods. 1/2 hour from Ferndale. To the high seed goes the spoils.

The game is played at Alhambra again because the Salesian coach gets to choose a neutral location. Why not play at their lucky field? My prediction is Pride 38 Wildcats 21.

The game should be played at Ukiah high. That's neutral! Put the game in Ferndale. Salesian wins big regardless of the location. Great season by BOTH teams.

salesian will be physically dominant. 42-7 salesian

I think a lot of people are underestimating ferndale's strength as well. Salesian may be bigger, but ferndale is physical as well

Ferndale isn't physical just smart players and coaches

Salesian should win, they are bigger, faster, stronger and well coached. If there is a team in the section that could pull off this upset ferndale is that team. Ferndale is a very good young team, look for them to be in the same situation next year only the favorite. Beating Salesian this year is a tall order. Lot of respect for both coaches and programs.

Salesian has no loses? what aspects of their game can a team capitalize on? any weak spots?

Anonymous said...

Salesian has no weak spots. Their O-line is big, VERY fast backs and receivers, QB has a strong arm too. On D, the front 7 are real physical and their DBs are all over you.

Do what Middletown did last year. Challenge their strengths anyway. Run between the tackles with purpose even when its tough. Throw deep and go for the big play.

Ferndale is not close to the middletown of last year. Did any of the middletown or salesian seniors get playinging time in college this year?
