Possible Seeds
Here are what I think will be the seeds for 16 teams (Healdsburg also qualifies but I doubt they'd apply).

The Record Bee said that Clear Lake would not petition into playoffs and rumor has it that neither will Willits.

I would think they would since they qualified and it is a 16 team bracket.
Yes, I think everyone who applied will get in. I'm surprised the Willits wouldn't because they were mostly competitive in their losses.

I didn't see the LA Clippers or the Bad News Bears. Shame really. Looks like everyone gets in the post season. My opinion. Top two from each bracket. Just sayin.

That is correct. If 16 make the field. If there is no #16, #1 get a bye. If there is no #15, #2 get a bye. And so on.
Top 2 from each bracket? Do you mean from the 25 teams in the section?what are you even talking about?Did you play lupus in the bad news bears? Are you even human?..Drake will play..... Willits lost its 3 best players to injury over the last 2 weeks..With 15 teams the only question is who will get the bye week...Justin or Valley Christian,.only God can tell....
Agreed. 16 teams is a joke. Only eight are needed to decide a champion.
There is a significant drop-off once you get past the 9 or 10 seed, but in the past we've had double digit seeds make it out of the first round, a 12 seed get to the semis and a 9 seed make it to the championship game.
The selection committee may decide to seed only 12 teams, but seeding everyone who qualifies and who applies wouldn't be a joke. The North Coast Section Division IV playoffs are not just for us, the fans or for some underground gambling syndicate, they are for the student athletes. They have an opportunity to experience something many athletes will never get to savor: the postseason.
Plus, this year there is no undefeated, totally dominant team. St. Mary's beat Valley Christian. Salesian squeaked by Middletown 7-3 and Middletown took third place in the NCL I. Drake gave Div. III Novato all they could handle and they will probably be a double-digit seed.
Eight seeds with a murky field like we have this year? That wouldn't be a joke, it would be a travesty.
Division IV isn't the same without Ferndale. But my money is on Justin.

This is a VERY FAIR bracket. I would like to see 16 teams and NO BYES. Players want to play and Fans want to watch.
Willits and clear lake did not apply
No way Fortuna should have a 7 seed behind Fort Bragg. They have a stronger rating, 4.9 to 2.7 and a better strength of schedule -5.2 to -16.2. Also 3-0 against D3 schools. Would love to hear their reasoning.
