I'm surprised they put VC and Salesian back in the same side of the bracket. Even Calpreps had Arcata in front of Salesian.
No way Fortuna should have a 7 seed behind Fort Bragg. They have a stronger rating, 4.9 to 2.7 and a better strength of schedule -5.2 to -16.2. Also 3-0 against D3 schools. Would love to hear their reasoning.
fort bragg won their leauge... having 2 wins over a substandard d3 del norte is nothing to write home about..Arcata got the #4 because private schools,.get the nod.. Note they WILL play these games..weather your a 5-6-7 seed..man up!
Fort Bragg lost 18-6 to D5 St. Bernard's -- a team that is a 4 seed in the D5 playoffs. I would not have had them in the top 5 -- league champ or not.
But the seeds are what they are. I think some of the games will be a lot closer than people think. This field is very murky and a lot of teams under everyone's radar could surprise a higher seed.
Because of this, I am excited and can't wait. I'll be at the helm both Friday and Saturday nights. Any games during the day, I'll rely on you folks to keep us all informed.
Your right Fort Bragg did win their league. And oh what a strong league it is? Hopefully for their leagues sake they don't get embarrassed in the first round. Then Arcata will destroy them in the second round.
That league, NCL 1, is definetely one of the toughest leagues in northern Cali...that being said I believe St. Helena and Middletown are overall better ball clubs than Fort Bragg.
Up until last week, I had Salesian #2 and favored to win NCS. Just because they hadn't lost to a D4 team in years and were competitive with El Cerrito until their best player got injured.
With the loss to Valley Christian, I think the title runs through Justin-Siena with Arcata as a very strong dark horse. This month should be fun.
This is a game played by boys. There are fifteen teams in the tournament and nobody but the NCS sees a penny from the gate revenue, so enjoy the games for what they are. Whoever wins will have to put together the four best games in a row they have played (or 3 in Justin Sienna's case). The Champion of division IV is always a worthy representative. Remember one injury changes the whole dynamic in small school football, an ankle sprain in practice can doom a top seed. Good luck to all of the teams!

Class A Dude you had Fort Bragg ranked #3 last week. What do you mean you would not have put them in the top 5?
Justin-Siena is going all the way!

The NCL I league sucks. When is the last time a team from this small school league even made it to the championship game.
Two years ago idiot. Middletown lost to Salesian in the Final game. Pay attention outside of when your kid is the back-up long snapper!
And Fort Bragg won it the year before that.

Amen to that, whoever gets hot can when it all, i agree one little injury could kill a team, so i say good luck to all the teams, and GO STANGS.
