playing at justin siena was probably what san marin wanted. its 45 minutes from san marin. i bet both teams would rather play there than up north somewhere
whoever thinks that teams from the HDNL will "dominate the north for the next few years" is clearly not a very smart person. Even though fortuna may win the championship doesnt mean the HDNL will dominate. Look at leagues like the TCAL with St Marys or the MCAL. Teams in these leagues actually play solid competition during the season. The best team in the HDNL is eureka and they arent even that good. El Cerrito (TCAL) will play Marin Catholic (MCAL) for the D3 crown this weekend. Marin Catholic lost in the state championship game last year. Novato(MCAL) won the State championship in 2008. Thats why teams such as St. Marys or Sir Francis Drake (15 seed last year) make such runs in the playoffs. These teams play really good D3 and D2 competition during the season and thats why they are successful during the Playoffs.
Why is salesian middletown and valley christian being little girls and playing at division 5? Valley christian has petitioned up before and so could middletown and salesian. All three have had success at the divison 4 level before
Admin.....Please remove the poster's comment with the "R" word. Just as bad as the "N" word in my opinion. Classless fool. Shows where he got his education, perhaps? Thank you.
Considering both fortuna and Del Norte are having very little impact from graduating seniors I would keep your women and children very close for the pillagng that is to continue.
The mcal is one of the toughest leagues in all of Northern California. Indescribable talent comes out of that league. Jared Goff for one, starting qb for cal. He played for marin catholic last year. Morgan Mahalak is going to u of o to play qb next year. I would say the mcal is the toughest league in Northern California, it's up there with the east bay league and the west catholic league all teams are championship caliber besides the obvious San Rafael and terra Linda. The HDNL is terrible. Marin Catholic just obliterated/pillaged eureka (the "best by far superior" team in the HDNL) 49-14. Therefore you are wrong.
1. Morgan Mahalak 2. Manny Wilkins 3. Andrew Celis 4. Carter Latino 5. Damon Moore 6. Chris Fletcher 7. Jose Ochoa 8. Felix LeMerle 9. Nathan bozin 10. Anthony Giusti
Please tell me that HDNL has this level of competition
Sounds like a lot of bitter San Marin fans on here. Good luck next year. Championship game has been changed to 1 o'clock at Humboldt State. You know, with the team from the HDNL hosting.
"San Marin is the class of division 4 this year and it really isn't very close. ASU commit Manny Wilkins leads the best San Marin squad in decades and the most prolific D4 scoring team"
Quote from a blogger down south. These are the players you sore losers keep bragging about? Pffft.
If you believe teams like West Valley and Shasta are not "solid" teams I think you need to get out more. When you say MC is such a great team year after year you are right however you should take into account the money they pay for that talent like many of the teams you prase. Texas completely separates scholarship schools from public schools for obvious recruitment corruption. I look forward to the day California wakes up and deals with this issue.
San marin wins that game 9 out of 10 times. St Mary's stalled and should have been called 5 or more times for a delay of game but the refs missed it. As a fan I think St Mary's is a good team though and should beat Fortuna easily.
We are talking about the "great" HDNL teams that are actually pretty weak. Shasta, west valley, sutter, paradise and enterprise are great teams and we are not talking about those schools. It would be a shame if we didn't see what enterprise could do in the division 2 NorCal regionals against casa grande cause of politics.
If you are talking about having a tough schedule DN did take on both Shasta and West Valley on the road. The only D4 opponent to beat them was Fortuna.
El Cerrito went undefeated in league and playing for the D3 title. St. Mary's came in THIRD in league then knocks off the D4 #1 seed to play for the D4 title. Salesian knocks off #1 Middletown and #2 Valley Christian to claim the D5 title. By the way they also beat St. Mary's in league this year.
Talk about a POWER league? Good chance to have THREE NCS Champions out of that league.
Or they get lucky with one. St Mary's is a long shot at best and El Cerrito hits the power of hired guns at MC. I guess it all starts with a dream though.
Justin siena has won section 5 times since 2000 and was runner up 3 times. Thats better than the entire HDNL combined. You people should get you facts straight.
Justin Siena has a strict school policy against recruiting. They haven't recruited since the 1996 squad. Just because they are a private school does not mean they recruit. It just means that the kids that go there want a higher education than most, and want to make something of themselves in life. Not saying that people at public schools do not, because of course money may be the deciding factor for most people. But the fact is Rich Cotruvo and his staff know what they are doing and do it well. They consistently make a good team out of what at another school perhaps would be a less than average team.
Coming from a player who played on a team that played justin they are one of if not the hardest hitting and strongest team we have seen this year. One of my teammates who's a running back could not remember hhis mothers name after we played them. I think two other people got concussions that game and one kid broke a rib. Personally I give them props for being as aggressive as they are.
Back in 1962 I Graduated from Justin Siena. I was a young fellow from el Cerrito. I could not afford the tuition at justin. I was the best player in pee Weiner. The school granted me a full scholarship a tutor to take my test and a free trip to Hawaii for my family

The only seed to hold up in Division 4 has been Fortuna. I thought San Marin was the super team?
does anyone know where the site is gonna be for the championship game for d4?
Humboldt State University Saturday at 7.
that doesnt seem like a very neutral site
that doesnt seem like a very neutral site
Last year's D4 final was Justin Siena vs. San Marin. That game was played AT Justin Siena.
But their a catholic school and get what they want

predictions for the championship game?
The title game is usually nearest the top seed remaining.
Ferndale had to travel down to the bay area to play Salesian two years ago. That was a 1 vs. 2 seed.
It is clear the HDN has hit the D4 with very little resistance. I look forward to seeing the division dominated by the north for the next few years.
I disagree, while HDNL are underestimated, i dont see domination from the likes of fortuna del norte mckinleyville etc in future years
Friday night was the D4 championship. We will see how the next few years play out. Good luck with your hope of not being domminated.
Fortuna will win by 14 or more. They have already played the toughest game this one will be a walk in the park.
Hahha we'll see on saturday. Go St Marys. Good luck with their athletes
Regardless of who wins next week, I expect you guys to kiss and make up Saturday night.

Sounds like somebody doesn't have enough gas money to make it to HSU from the bay area. Too bad. One less person whining about traveling.
Just cause you said that im getting up saturday morning bright and early and traveling to hsu

Couldn't agree more. Offense played well but couldn't stop St Mary's on the big play. Made a great game of it.

*I mean Clovis north in division 1
9 out of 10 times and they choke on the 1 that counted? Weak.
If you are talking about having a tough schedule DN did take on both Shasta and West Valley on the road. The only D4 opponent to beat them was Fortuna.
How about that TCAL Rock?

And del norte got wrecked by west valley 49-0 and lost to Shasta 29-12.
The last time a team from the HDNL won D4 NCS was 1997.
Not true. Ferndale won in 2007
Not only that, but Ferndale crushed st Mary's in 2010 50-6 and is usually a very strong contender in D4.
They won d5 in 2007. http://cifncs.org/sports/football/files/RESULTS/Master%20Results.htm

But justin siena "recruits" because their as raw as de la salle and can do that. Haha what a joke

Fortuna last won it in 2000.
Actually you guys are wrong. Justin payed me 10 k to go here in the late 90s
Ferndale was in class A in 2007 which changed to D4 . Get YOUR facts straight
Coming from a player who played on a team that played justin they are one of if not the hardest hitting and strongest team we have seen this year. One of my teammates who's a running back could not remember hhis mothers name after we played them. I think two other people got concussions that game and one kid broke a rib. I'm a justin siena graduate '96 and they payed me 20k a year to go to justin. They saved me from the streets of napa.
Back in 1962 I Graduated from Justin Siena. I was a young fellow from el Cerrito. I could not afford the tuition at justin. I was the best player in pee Weiner. The school granted me a full scholarship a tutor to take my test and a free trip to Hawaii for my family
I'ze apalagize fore mye baadd gremmer too maaeny concesuions
You must have played on a TCAL team.
Last i looked the argument was which league is better not which team.
Teams make up a league......but I won't call you the R word.
