CIF 6-A High School Football Championship Game Results
St. Patrick-St. Vincent, 29 Strathmore 28 (F) Congratulations to St. Patrick-St. Vincent for winning the CIF State Title -- the second straight NCS Division V champ to do so!
Definition of geographical area for placement of NCS Championship contests.
PASSED UNANIMOUSLY at every level.
Board of Managers: 46-0
Sports Advisory Committee: 17-0
Executive Committee: 11-0
Motion to add a definition to geographical area for determining placement of playoff games.
Description of the Proposal: At present time, there is no definition of geographical area for determining where games are assigned for playoffs. Our proposal is to add a definition for geographical area in the Sport and General Ruling Handbook, rule 521H, Criteria for Determining Which Geographical Area Games Are Assigned. The CMC would therefore like to add a definition under rule 521H to read “Geographical area is defined as any field in your designated league”.
Looks like the NCS office wont be able to use their MADE UP geographical area definition of 20 miles... Oh I mean 30 miles.. Or was it 50 miles anymore.
The definition of geographic area was already in the NCS Constitution. The NCS chose to ignore it. Whoever left this comment back in November nailed it.
Constitution Rule 106 says, in part:
3. Separate, geographically determined, conferences shall serve NCS member schools as follows
b Marin, Sonoma, Mendocino and Napa Counties (Thats the CMC)
So there's your geographic area definition. But wait, there's more:
106 B 1. says, in part:
"Basic leagues shall be composed of schools from a generally proximate geographical area."
So any school in Fort Bragg's league is in its geographical area, and also, any school in the conference. So the NCS made a mistake. They need to fix it.
