Cardinal Newman won't make it to the regional game next year. This was their year to go to state, they will never have an easier path than D4. Ah karma.
Yeah I don't know about next year for Newman it will be a step back. But agree still think D3 will better prepare them down the road. Playing D5/D4 type slappies will not get them ready against a qaulity squad like VC who has weekly brawls in the WCAL to prepare them. It showed last night. Great season though and that looks like it for The Empire this year on the gridiron.

State Championship games should not be played at one of the teams home fields. This is freaking ridiculous.
