Willits has lost a lot of players, I don't think they will apply. I think Lower Lake is happy to end 500 and on a positive note I doubt they apply. Your bracket looks solid. Fortuna beat Ferndale this year so how could they be higher. Valley is the dark horse this year but criteria wise will be a low seed.

Is it possible that St. Helena as a presumptive 15 seed could host a home game against Healdsburg, the probabl #2? Since they are league champions I mean. It just looks...weird.

Thats to bad if they dont apply. Thats what you play for is the playoffs and try to win a championship. The Ferndale, El Mo and Fortuna are tough ones. I was just trying to get an idea on what other people thought.

Anonymous said...

That rule is in place to reward Champions from smaller leagues and now that just about every body makes the playoffs I think it's a good one. Healdsburg a true high seed should still beat them easily.

The seeding community will see this and make some minor adjustments to it. So a 2 seed wont have to travel to a 15, also they will try to cut down on travling distance in the first and second rounds

THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO, ITS MY UNDERSTANDING ITS STRAIGHT SEEDING.

anyone have a final score for salesian vs berean

Heres my guess: Salesian & Middletown have home field as they are league champs. They will be on opposite sides of the brackets.

1. Healdsburg - Toughest schedule/league
2. St Pats - Beat Salesian
3. Salesian - Barely lost to St.Pats, Beat Middletown
4. Middletown 9-1 Barely lost to Salesian, beat Fort Bragg
5. Elmolino - Beat Fortuna
6. Fortuna - Beat Ferndale
7. Ferndale
8. Fort Bragg - Beat Kelseyville
9. Berian Christian - Beat VC
10. St. Mary's
11. VC - Tough Schedule
12. Kelseyville
13. Harker
14. Willits beat St. Helena
15. St. Helena
16. Lower Lake, Lost to St. Helena

The NCS web site does not have applications to apply from Harker, Lower Lake, and Willits.

maybe just 12 then

If they dont take 16 teams then why did they expand the division enrollment to 899. I thought that was the whole reasoning of it was to get a 16 team playoff field. Its hard making the playoffs and then having a bye the first round.

salesian 46 berean christian 18 final.

They will take 16 if 16 apply. There are only 23 teams in div IV. Moving the enrollment up has nothing to do with getting in 16, has something to do with state playoffs. div IV was one of the most competive divisions before they moved the enrollment up.

If St. Helena is 15 or 16 then Healdsburg or St.Pats will have to travel for the first round. Talk about BS.

Healdsburg plays in the toughest league by far. Two of their losses came to top tier D2 teams Windsor & Casa Grande. There other loss was to D3 playoff team Analy. They beat a strong D3 playoff team Alhambra and they beat D4 foe Elmolino who should get a #4-6 seed by two TD's. They also beat D3 playoff team Acalanes.

St Pats has beaten Salesian for their best win. Lost against a top tier D3 team in Encinal, and has two wins vs lower tear D4 playoff teams in Berean Chrstian and St. Mary's. Overall, Healdsburg schedule is much tougher.

It will be interesting to see who gets #1 & #2

It's all up to the selection committee now...I can't wait. I'll probably be traveling, so if you get the seeds before I get home, please post them as a comment.

I could see healdsburg number 1 with that case, as far having to travel win your league and problem solved.

Anonymous said...

If only 13 teams apply healdsburg would get a bye

Anonymous said...

healdsburg wont be crying if they have to travel 40 minutes to play in st.helenas multi million $ facility...easy win, and best tri tip in northern calif

13 team field is in....hburg...st. pats...salisian

Glad Healdsburg got the #1 seed. Well deserved.

Pack your Bags St. Mary's (Ferndale) and VC (Fortuna).

Interesting note. If Fendale beats St. Mary's, then St. Pats has a long trip up to Ferndale the next week since Ferndale is a league champion.

Did i miss something? Why is Healdsburg in the small school playoffs?

Anonymous said...

D4 goes up to 899 in enrollment this year. Healdsburg is in the mid 800's. Hell, Marin Catholic could have played D4, but petitioned up to D3

Here come the whiners about having to travel to humboldt county.
