Who are the people who said ferndale was having a down year?

Obviously someone who doesnt know what there talking about! All I can say about that score: Wow

Weather and field conditions played a part in todays Ferndale game, and Ferndale's team is peaking at the right time. Going to be a tough game for them down in Salesian next week.

I wouldn't say Ferndale has had a down year, they may not be as good as teams in the past but the competition has been stronger this year.

The Salesian-Fortuna score is a lot more shocking than the Ferndale score. Salesian looks to be peaking too.

looks like a salesian/middletown rematch from game one...best places for neutral field....napa or st.helena

It's time for the NCS to stop rewarding home field advantage to teams who are lower seeds just because they are league champions. Seriously its an unfair advantage to schools who play in inferior leagues.

shouldnt be a problem if they really are inferior leauges...st pats should have roasted ferndale with that backwards logic...go figure

It's time for NCS to stop increasing enrollment for divisions. That is also unfair to teams who play in inferior leagues. Schools with almost 900 students should not be playing teams with 400 or 500 students. Better yet, maybe teams should take Ferndale's example and play up where they belong.

Wish I could be there to see Middletown send Healdsburg's trophy chasing team home for the season. They don't belong in DIV, and I don't care if their enrollment gives them the choice. Ferndale could stay in DV and take a trophy every year, but guess what, they don't because they know it would be ridiculous. Go Mustangs. Oh and Middletown, watch out for the cheap shots after the whistle.

if that's the case, how come middletown and fort bragg and salesian won't petition up to DIII? its okay for them to earn the trophy but no one else? if DIV is such a cake walk, does that deminish the accomplishment to who ever wins it? I don't see the logic to this complaint.

One reason Ferndale plays up is a result of a decision by the Board of Managers(NCS Decisions making entity). Once a team wins three section titles they have to move up to the next division they do not have a choice. I am not sure how long Ferndale has played up, but they know they would waltz through division V and be there anyway so they might as well just play up. Not to mention they are a group of tough ombreys, who are well coached and very disciplined. I will make my mark and predict they beat Saelsian on Salesian's home turf. Also will pick Middletown at home in the rain, 21-20.

Salesian has proved the last couple years that they over look teams who don't have as much size and athleticism as them. Did it last year against Fort Bragg and two years ago against Justin. Wouldn't surpirse me one bit if Ferndale goes there and beats them on Saturday.

Don't think so. Fortuna busted through Ferndale's line all day long. Salesian did the same to Fortuna.

Whats your point?

Salesian lost to St. Pats early in the season who Ferndale workerd, and Ferndale lost to Fortuna early in the season who Salesian just worked.

Both D4 games should be competitive. Note that the empire has three teams remaining to the East Bay's one. The empire was also overlooked last year as #8 seed Fort Bragg (Playing road games) won the Championship.

Ferndale does not have to play up in DIV. That is just misinformation. If that were the case why would the NCS make them fill out a petition to do so? Where do you guys come up with this stuff? In fact, Coach J waited this year to see if Marin Catholic would stay in DIV to make his choice. Don't spread BS people. Coach J loves the competition. I think he would actually be wise to stay in DV since California now has a Small Schools State Championship/Bowl Game. It would be great to see Ferndale qualify and represent the North against some of those tough teams from the South. Last year's representative got blown out.

i think the small school bowl is for d 4 schools....anyway my pick is for middletown to win it all ...middletown 28 healdsburg 20 salesian 30 ferndale 16

Thanks for clearing that up Ferndale Football...And I think Ferndale would offer up some pretty tough competition in the small school championship.

If you have a good team then it shouldn't matter where you play. They are riding on a bus not flying to Wisconsin. Sure it would be nice to play at home, but what is the bigger picture? Ferndale 27 Salesion 15
Middletown 21 Healdsburg 13
