Fort Bragg got screwed in the D-IV seedings. 8-2 league champions and they got the #8 seed? I did not think 4-6 McKinleyville even qualified for the playoffs and they got the #7 seed. They did not have at least a .500 record overall (4-6), in league (2-5) or vs DIV teams (3-4). Very strange.

Fort Bragg lost to McKinleyville first game by 10

Wow and then I see St Helena gets the #3 seed in D-V. NCL I getting hosed today. #2 seed St Bernards is good but the Little 4 was no where close to the NCL I this season.

How is McKinleyville in the playoffs without a .500 record in any of the three criteria?

Don't know how Mckinleyville got in.
As for StHelena, StBernard both beat Stvincent by a TD, StHelena lost to Fort bragg, Fort Bragg lost to Mckinleyville. St Bernard beat Mckinnleyville, Fort Bragg is better than seed but Mckinleyville loss hurt

McKinleyville beat Fort Bragg by 10 back in August so that gets them the #7 seed with a 4-6 record?
Who else did they beat? Because I'm seeing 6-4 Trinity, 0-10 Arcata and 0-10 Arcata.

Just saw your comment. Your St Helena vs St Bernard breakdown makes sense.

McKinleyville's win against Trinity, a D4 team from the northern section is what got them to .500 in D4. It doesn't matter what section a school is from as long as they are relatively the same size.

St. Helena plays D5 because they can't win in d4. They stopped accepting district transfers so that they could slide under 500 enrollment.

Trinity is D-4 in the Northern section but they are under 500 students. That would make them D-5 in the North Coast section. So Mack win would count as a D-5. This would make Mack ineligible for the playoffs with a 3-4 D-4 record. Did anybody check on this stuff at the seeding meeting?

Somebody messed up BIGTIME on this one. Trinity is too small to count as D-4 in the NCS. Mack should not have been approved for the playoffs.

Will the NCS do the right thing and disQualify Mack, They should. they aren't eligible by there own ctiteria

if they are eliminated does this give piedmont the bye? this breaks up the matches that coaches are already preparing for

Anonymous said...

We will see if Gil lemon makes the right call. I think it depends on if he likes you or not

So the NCS is going to allow an unqualified team to stay in the playoffs? The fact they rewarded the sub .500 team with a home game seven seed is ridiculous.

I never had McKinleyville ranked, so a 7 seed was much too high as far as I'm concerned. At this point they really only have one option: give El Molino a bye. But I'm not sure we'll ever hear them address it.

They should leave it as is but issue an apology and acknowledge their mistake.

Class A Dude said...

That could happen if their mistake is brought out into the open. Are any major papers even discussong this?

Letters have been sent the ncs and to all coaches that would be affected

I wrote an email to Gil Lemmon this morning. I'll post any response as soon as I get it.

If Justin can get past fortuna they should beat Piedmont. Justin was without their top 2 runnings backs. But big IF that Justin can get past Fortuna.

Justin is still very very young, next years final could be fort bragg vs justin.

Why wouldn't Justin beat Forttuna? They are the no. 3 seed, and Forttuna is no. 6. When did they get their running backs back?

Who gives a fuck. Play your game. Upsets happen and mistakes are made. You play week to week especially in the playoffs. Looking ahead only makes you loose. Never overlook a team. Justin lost to the 11th seed last year.
