So what do you think about a 9-1 (2 seed) team not having a home game in the playoffs?... The rule that Champions have ALL home games has to be changed. The fairest thing to do, if you want to honor the league champ, let them have the first playoff game at home, then after that, the highest seed gets the home game. In SPSV's place, if Ferndale wins, they have to travel 6 hrs., If they beat Ferndale, and Salesians wins, they have to go to Salesians, whom they beat. How is that fair?

Any thoughts?

Considering that there is another 9-1 team that is seeded 8th, and the returning DIV champs, I think you have nothing to complain about.

You guys are such homers... the question is not about travel, nor is it about SPSV. The question simply is about the rule that league champs get ALL home games even though they are lower seeds. It doesn't matter who it is. I only pointed out SPSV because they stood out to me. The same would apply for Healdsburg, If they have to play Middletown, middletown hosts... As a 4 seed. That is not fair in my opinion! The higher seed should host... That's the way it is everywhere else.

Actually the Championship game can be on a neutral field. Last year game was played in Santa Rosa which was supposed to be equal distance for 2 teams to travel. Not. Justin Sienna traveled about 45 minutes, while FB traveled 2 hours and FB was the higher seed.

If you want to talk about travel. Last year FB hosted first game at home then traveled 6 hours round trip to Ferndale, 6 hours round trip to Salesian and 5 hours round trip to Santa Rosa. Enjoy the moment and don't get hung up on travel. Think of it this way, if you are traveling week after week -you are winning.

At this point in the season, travel isn't that big of deal. The better team will win. Anyone traveling up to Ferndale can come on Friday and stay over for the Saturday game. We don't play Friday nights (no lights). The Championship game is SUPPOSED to be at a neutral site but that seldom happens for us. In the 2007 Championship, Ferndale had to make the long bus ride down to Martinez to play SPSV which is 10 miles away in Vallejo!!! Tell me that's fair/neutral. We didn't complain. Just took care of business.

I see no upsets in the first round what so ever.

So how about Berean beating the Fort. Not. Great game. Berean was a class act Football team and their coach should be proud. In all the years my son has been playing I have never seen a coach gather both teams after game for a post game huddle. That was awesome.
