If California had an enrollment multiplier for private schools, like many states, for example 1.6. Then all the private schools in the Division IV playoffs this year would have to move up to D-III. Many states have a multiplier larger than 1.6. Texas does not allow private schools to compete in the public school playoffs.
All this talk about enrollment multipliers for private schools is starting to get real embarrassing. It is making us look like we have an inferiority complex. Middletown annihilated Harker and should also have no problem defeating Valley Christian. Middletown isn't fussing about trying to bump up private schools so that they don't have to play them. Follow their example and just beat the private schools.
Unlike Cloverdale that underestimated Valley Christian I don’t think Middletown will make the same mistake. Cloverdale was on a 6 game winning streak and VC had lost 3 of their last 4 games prior to their match up. And the one game that VC won was against a small deaf team. That’s right, a small team from the California School of the Deaf. So understandably Cloverdale might have assumed they would just roll over VC. On the other hand VC had nothing to prove because they were the big underdogs and everyone was expecting them to lose the game.
I found your site/blog roughly half way through the season....wish I had found it sooner! You do a fine job! Keep up the good work!
