Does Ferndale really deserve to be number 1? They play cupcake games and probably wont get the one seed in the playoffs.

As much as I don't care for Ferndale, they've proven themselves in the playoffs year in year out. They're able to stay sharp all season while play teams like South Fork and the like. Sometimes they shouldn't be the #1 I'll agree with you there, but along with St. Pats-St. Vincent and Salesian, they're consistent. That and a 10-0 record wows people when it comes to seeding.

The fact of the matter is that Ferndale beats everyone they play aming it difficult to not give them the number 1 seed. At the same time they rarely play any team that's worth a thing. They are not the best team in D IV this year...St Mary's deserves the number 1 seed. PS Justin-Siena has been as consitent as anyone over the last ten years

It is a tough call between Ferndale and St. Mary's. I think the seeding committee might give the Panthers the number one seed, but you can't discount Ferndale. In the last ten years, Justin Siena has made the playoffs 9 times, Ferndale has made it all ten -- so both teams are very consistent.

Overall, I think the playoffs will be loaded this year with most of the teams capable of winning the whole thing. It is going to be a great post-season.

The rankings I post here are just my opinion and I encourage all of you to disagree, agree, give us your own, etc.

Forgot about Justin-Siena, they're consistent as well.

This year's playoffs remind me of 2006, when a #8 John Swett upset Justin and a #2 St. Helena squad nearly beat Ferndale. An exciting year it was. This year should be no exception.

Why'd Kennedy forfeit?

Kennedy is having serious problems that go well beyond sports and football. But the biggest reason is they just don't have the players. They couldn't field a team and have forfeited the last four games and will likely do so this weekend. There have been reports in local papers about major administration problems and an overall lack of support for any of their sports teams.

Correct me if I am wrong but I do belive Justin is 3-2 against Ferndale in those nine years, and they are all road wins.

You are correct. I agreed that Justin Siena has been consistent, but so has Ferndale. A 3-2 record isn't very dominating. In fact, it's what I would expect from two great teams.

I have great respect for Ferndale.
They have a great program. However if they were in the same league as J_S, they would lose several games every year. Their 10-0 and 9-1 records are mostly against teams that are the JV level in the Marin County League

Ferndale is 2-2 against Justin Siena since 2001 when Ferndale moved up a playoff division. Ferndale wins against Justin Siena: 02, 05. Justin siena wins against Ferndale: 03, 08. If I am wrong please correct me.

It's tough to say how they would do if they played in the MCAL. But I think they have proven to be more than competitive in Div. IV even though they play up a division from where they should play.

But, Ferndale isn't at 10-0 yet. They will have a tough game against McKinlyeville this weekend. The playoffs are wide open and I really can't wait.

Since 2001, yes, Ferndale and J.S. are 2-2 against each other. But J.S. beat Ferndale 16-14 in the championship game in 2000. They have played some epic battles over the years.

Ferndale has played some cupcake teams this year, but they have also played tough teams too. Technically a Div V school they have beat Div V, IV, and III schools, including the Div III no 8 seede.
